Social service in the work area and productive restructuring: the specific case of Belém-Pará

This paper aims to analyze the changes in the types of workmanagement in private companies and public organizations caused by the productive restructuring process. These changes require that new social policies be attentive to workers’ social reproduction as well as to the achievement of production goals and work results. It is noteworthy that these changes have some impacts on social workers’ reaction to the new requests that have arisen in social-occupational spaces. Those answers, in general polyvalent, lead to a practice based on technical information that tends to get farther from generalist training by the social worker.
