Abstract

The present work discusses the Social Assistance Unique System and social control in Londrina/PR. Its main objective is to analyze how the social control is carried out under the Social Assistance Policy and, particularly, in the Social Assistance Unique System, from the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) units in the city of Londrina/PR. Londrina has implemented twelve CRAS units. The qualitative approach was used and the data was collected by semi- structuralized interviews with CRAS urban units’ coordinators. We have chosen the urban units due to their better services structure targeted on the users. From the thematic analysis of the interviews, it can be concluded that the social control has been constantly stimulated by the CRASs; it is in a consolidation process; it depends on exhausting professional work; and its main limitation remains on the history related to charity, which is still impregnated in the Social Assistance Policy.
