As Repercussões do Voluntariado e da Solidariedade nas Políticas Sociais no Brasil

Abstract

This article tries to reflect on social policies and volunteerism, in special the articulation among the State, society and social policies, specifically in Brazil. This theme was shown as being relevant since it has been perceived in the last years an increase of the voluntary and supportive action not only by the State but also by the society. The volunteerism is based on moral values that are out of context of political, social, cultural and economical factors; in general, it is noticeable the stimulus to the individual gesture. The expansion of the contemporaneous capitalism based on neoliberal principles increases the enormous contingent of individuals that are left aside in the development process, exacerbating the appearance of homeless people, people in need that require some help. This characteristic brings as direct consequence the appearance of several ways or kinds of work that seek to give answers to social needs, making it appear the growing of voluntary work and solidarity.
