Social Work and public spaces: a challenge to the ethical and political Project

The aim of this paper is to discuss the challenges for the ethical and political project in Social Work from the emergence of the new participatory public spaces in Brazil especially in the context marked by the Neo-liberal hegemony. We note these spaces as a "new locus" for the Social Work in contemporary emphasizing the importance of the Social Work activities in these public spaces in the process of asserting rights and strengthening democracy in representing a new professional profile: connectors, political educators and “policy managers”.
